August 13th-16th Olympic Weekend

5:00 pm – Social Hour & Trivia – Fillmore Pizza Parlor

Get your weekend started right with a fun and friendly evening! We’re hosting a casual get-together featuring good food, great company, and a bit of friendly competition. Unwind and enjoy the start of your weekend with friends and fellow guests. Savor a classic Philly Cheese Steak, oozing with cheese and packed with flavor, or try one of our other specialty sandwiches paired with a delicious side. The meal costs only $8.00.

At 6:00 PM, get ready for some brain-teasing fun with our trivia event! Teams of two can compete to answer a variety of questions. The team with the most correct answers will win a prize! Get your thinking caps on and prepare for a night of laughter and friendly competition. Don’t worry if you’re not a trivia expert – it’s all about having a good time! We can’t wait to see you there for an evening of relaxation, great food, and friendly competition. It’s the perfect way to kick off your weekend!

Friday, August 14th

5:30 pm – Social Hour & Bingo – Jefferson Event Center

Join us for a fun evening of bingo! On tonight’s menu: Load Baked Potatoes. The meal costs only $5.00. Around 6:00 pm, we will transition into three or four fast-paced games of Bingo. Bingo cards are available at the door for $5.00 and are good for all games.

Saturday, August 15th

10:00 am – Family Craft – Polk Room

Get ready for the Madison Vines Olympics by decorating your own pair of sunglasses! It’s going to be a fun and hot day, so try to stay cool with a nice pair of custom-designed sunglasses just for you!  The cost of this craft is $8.00. Please sign up at the office. 

11:00 am – Gaga Ball – Quad

To start the Olympics off we have Gaga Ball! Gaga Ball is a fast-paced, high-energy game that combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping—all inside a small, enclosed pit. All players start inside the pit, touching one of the walls. Someone throws the ball into the center, and everyone chants “Ga! Ga! Ball!” before the game begins. Players hit the ball with an open hand (no throwing or kicking). The goal is to hit other players below the knees with the ball. If the ball touches you below the knees, you’re out and must leave the pit. If a player hits the ball out of the pit, they’re out. The last player remaining in the pit wins!

12:00 pm – Free Throw Contest – Quad

We will then head into our free throws! This will be a simple, straightforward competition. We will have three different age groups: 8 & under, 9-16 years, and 17 & over. The guest who makes the most free throws out of 15 in each group will win a $15 gift certificate to the Madison Vines Store.

1:00 pm – Volleyball Tournament – Quad

Up next we have a classic game of volleyball! The team that wins the best 2 out of 3 wins!

2:00 pm – World Cup – Polk Room

Lets move on to the World Cup! Make sure players are divided up into multiple teams of two. One person will be the goalkeeper not on a team. Have each team pick a country that they will represent. Have all the teams on the field when the game begins. The goalie will throw the ball into the middle of the playing area. At this point, play. The object is for you or your teammate to score on the goalkeeper. But each team will be going up against multiple other teams with the same mission. If the goalkeeper saves the ball, just punt it back into the middle of the playing area. Once a team scores, they leave the game and get ready for the next round, but if you don’t yell at the Country that you picked, then your goal does not count. Continue playing with all the other teams. The lone team that doesn’t score in that round is eliminated. All the other teams that did score head back onto the field for the second round. Play as many rounds as it takes to eliminate all but two teams. Those two teams then face off in the “World Cup Final” and the team that scores first is the champion.

3:00 pm – Super Soaker Hay Ride – Quad

Kids will board the hay wagon, carrying their mega water squirter. Bins of water on the wagon will keep the kids squirting at the RVers, who have hoses aimed at the wagon to squirt back! This is a kids vs adults competition to see who gets totally drenched!

6:00 pm – Saturday Dinner – Jefferson Event Center

Join Us at the Jefferson Event Center! Enjoy a delicious meal featuring: Smoked Meat Loaf, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, Roll, and Dessert.

Sunday, August 16th

9:00 am – Sunday Breakfast – Jefferson Event Center

Before you head home today, come on down to the Jefferson Event Center for a hearty breakfast. Enjoy Scrambled Eggs, French Toast, Fried Potatoes, Fresh Fruit, Juice and Coffee. All of this for only $8.00.
